The internet can be a tremendous resource for families. Students can use it to conduct research, communicate with teachers and others, prepare for the ACT, investigate colleges and universities. Unfortunately, it can also pose risks if used inappropriately. The Hawkins County School District provides content filtering to block potentially harmful online resources on school computers.  This filtered online experience is limited to school computers, but there are many avenues through which students may access the internet (friend/family computer, cell phone, or another device of their own.   Hakwins County Schools provides one or more short lessons each year on the safe use of the internet.  .
