Khloe Sanders sets the standard for Volunteer Lady Falcon Soccer being selected as the Region 1AA Girls Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year. This is the first Regional player of the year honor, boy or girl, in Volunteer soccer history. She's only a sophomore!

VHS will be on a 2-hour delay on November 11, 2025. We will follow the blue schedule. Our Veterans Day program will begin at 10:00 and be followed by a brunch for our Veteran families.
HCS Delay Alert: Due to freezing temps and precipitation overnight, Hawkins County Schools will operate on a two hour delay, Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The weather will be evaluated early Tuesday to determine if further changes are required. Please watch for any additional updates.

The Volunteer High School Robotics Team competed at the UVA Wise Regional Robot Drone League Competition this weekend. They placed 7th overall and made it to the quarterfinal elimination bracket in alliance play.
The team also won the autonomous award, given to the team that scores the most points by coding and programming their robots and drones.
Their performance has earned them a spot in the National Robot Drone League Championship in Spring 2026.

What is the difference in truancy and chronically absent?
Chronically absent counts all absences: excused, unexcused, and suspensions and has a high negative impact on school success. Students who miss more than 10% of the school year are considered chronically absent.
Truancy is unexcused absences only. Families who continue to be truant will be required to attend a meeting with school officials and possibly a court appearance.

VHS will host a Veterans Day celebration on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. All VHS students and staff are invited to bring their Veteran family members to join in this special occasion. We will have a complimentary breakfast for those guests, and hold a Veterans Day appreciation ceremony featuring our guest speaker, Colonel Travis Neal Kerney, at 9:30.
